British Society for the History of Science 2016 Postgraduate Conference

04 Jan 2016

On 7 January there will be a very special history of science themed Bright Club, held at the Portland Arms in Cambridge from 8pm onwards organised by the  British Society for the History of Science 2016 Postgraduate Conference. Tickets will be available when doors open at 7:30pm for £7. The Bright Club performance is linked with the BSHS Postgraduate Conference, but you don't need to be attending the conference in order to attend or perform at Bright Club.

The show will feature:

SIX historians of science who will be being seriously funny about their research...

PLUS HEADLINER

Paul Duncan McGarrity: Archaeologist, Comic, Man. Those are the facts, everything else is interpretation. Amused Moose finalist and one of the only Archomedians on the circuit, Paul has performed comedy in some of the best clubs in the UK as well as on Hadrian's wall and in a C14th Abbey.

AND COMPERE

Oliver Marsh: Second time Bright Club compere, Oliver is a PhD student at the UCL Department of Science and Technology Studies, studying online science enthusiast communities. In his other (arguably more important) life he has done jokes at multiple Bright Club and ScienceShowoff nights, alongside the Cambridge Footlights, and for BBC Radio 4 Extra's NewsJack.  He also co-founded the sketch troupe CowsDrinkMilk.
Doors open at 7.30 (though the pub will be open before then).
